Abundant Therapist:Financial planning for happy holidays

Abundant Therapist:Financial planning for happy holidays

It’s holiday time! My sons have finished school for the academic year and I am adjusting my work schedule to fit around them.

Over the years I have organised my physiotherapy clinic so I can work around my family and achieve a happy but profitable work life balance.

That’s the beauty of being self-employed.

But holiday time can spark fear for many self-employed therapists.

When money is tight, they panic when regular customers say “I will be in touch after the summer.”

It means that bookings and income are difficult to predict during holiday periods.

Does this sound like you? Do you have lean periods when bookings are scarce.

A therapist I worked with recently was in just such a predicament. She wasn’t making enough money during the summer months to enable her and her family to have a holiday of their own.

I introduced her to my system of diary management. In a nutshell, it means planning ahead so you can ride the lean times and really capitalise when you know clients want to see you.

It may mean working extra hours – perhaps evenings – for a few months of the year so you have banked enough money to take some time off yourself when business is quiet.

It takes planning and a bit of juggling if you have family commitments but it is very financially worthwhile.

Please get in touch if you would like me to explain how my system will make you more money – and give you financial peace of mind 12 months of the year.
