Treat that sore back.

Last week my husband had a back operation, a lumbar discectomy, after a large prolapsed disc. He is making good recovery and is now eight days post-op.

It was wonderful to experience the professionalism in hospital.

Each of the team members from the Surgeons, to the nurses, the catering staff and the cleaners not only completed their own roles but they all worked together as a team.

You may be working on your own and have a practice in your home, or you may be a mobile therapist or have a small clinic.

It can be lonely at times being your own boss.

I am a solo practitioner and have a busy clinic at home, which I have run for the past 10 years.

I have made it my mission to build up a network with other professionals, so I have a selection of therapists who I can refer to and of course they can refer to me.

That way I never feel like I’m working on my own. I feel that I’m working within a team of therapists even though we all standalone and run our own businesses.
