When I meet my one-to-one consultancy clients I enjoy telling them about the therapists I work with who have turned their businesses around fast.

Sharing success stories is a great motivator and I enjoy celebrating the therapists who have used my Abundant Therapy coaching methods to turn their passion into a fully-fledged business.

These therapists may be medical, work in sports and fitness or may be complementary therapists.

I also congratulate my new clients on having the self-belief to invest in themselves to make their own success stories.

For too often it is a lack of commitment that is the real enemy when it comes to growing our businesses.

As well as my success stories, I am afraid I also have a couple of non-committers. These are therapists who have attended workshops with me, who follow me online and who are interested in what I have to say.

But several years after they first make contact, they are in the same position. They want to earn good money from their specialty, but they just cannot commit to taking the necessary action.

The result is their business stagnates, or worse – they may give up. They know they are missing opportunities but won’t do anything about it.

Don’t let this be you in 2019.

This is what I tell my clients. Turning around a business fast to ensure a healthy profit requires hard work and total focus.

Don’t forget, I practise what I preach. When I started my own clinic, I took myself off to the United States to learn all about running a business.

I was a great therapist but my physiotherapy training did not teach me how to run a business.

I recognised that I needed to invest in myself in order to make money.

This is the point therapists struggling to make money need to remember.

You need to invest in yourself so you can find a market for your therapy skills.
